Irrigation troubleshooting #3 - Water pressure issues.

If you ever notice that the water pressure has dropped and your sprinklers just aren't covering the ground they used to it could be a number of problems. If you recently had some digging done on your property it could be a broken pipe. Maybe the flow control valve, the double check valve, or master shut off valve wasn't completely opened when the system was activated for the season. Easy fixes. But if a new subdivision was recently constructed close by and the new homes are syphoning water from your system we might need to get a little creative to gain the same coverage you had before.

In this case, the customer had a break in the pipe AND too many sprinklers had nozzles intended to cover more ground which required more water yet not enough water pressure to acquire full coverage. My solution was to (obviously) fix the pipe and reduce the nozzle size which increased the overall water pressure and allowed the system to function as best it could, covering the whole lawn.
